Office Pod Buying Guide

Buying an office pod is a genuine investment, and it’s worth getting right the first time. Here’s what actually matters.

1. Start with capacity, not features. Work out how the pod will really be used most often — solo calls and focus work suit a smaller pod; regular team meetings need real room to sit comfortably. KB Housing’s range covers 2–4, 4–5, and 5–7 people — pick based on your most common use case, not the largest occasional need.

2. Understand what “noise reduction” actually means. A pod’s dB (decibel) rating tells you how much quieter it is inside than the surrounding space — it’s not the same as complete soundproofing (see our separate guide on this). Ask any manufacturer for their actual tested figure, not a vague “soundproof” claim.

3. Check what’s included in the warranty. A pod is a long-term piece of office equipment. Look for a warranty that covers replacement parts, not just a vague promise — KB Housing pods come with a 1-year warranty including replacement parts.

4. Ask about installation before you buy. Most modern pods, including KB Housing’s, are designed for self-assembly in a matter of hours — no contractors or planning permission required. Confirm this before ordering if it matters to your timeline.

5. Think about where it will actually go. Measure the space, check ceiling height, and consider power access before ordering — a pod that arrives and doesn’t fit is an expensive mistake to avoid.
